Thank you to the officers and committee for inviting me to judge at this well-run and friendly show. I also appreciate all the exhibitors who brought their wonderful dogs; it was a genuine pleasure. 1. Mr & Mrs Bellringer-Cloudside Ebony Prince At Johda JW
Very taken with this 18-month-old black brindle dog. When standing, he presents a shapely and balanced outline, displaying the typical proud demeanour with just a hint of naughtiness. His pleasing masculine head has good length and a dark, well-shaped eye that adds to his expressive look. He has a good length of neck leading to a firm, well-held topline, both standing and on the move, with a decent spring of rib. He won this class with his light, effortless movement and proud carriage. RBOB
2. Gunn & Cannon-Golddragon Bubble Bounce Into Zushkhan
This 15-month-old, well-presented, black-masked gold bitch has a lovely outline. She is of a slightly finer mould but is beautifully constructed. Her very feminine head features a good length of foreface and dark eyes topped with a silky topknot. I admired her depth of brisket and the fill of her forechest. She maintained a firm topline at all times and moved soundly both fore and aft, though she lacked the springy lightness of today's winner.

Stylish three-year-old, black-masked gold bitch, who presents a picture of femininity and dignity. She is immaculately presented, with her coat in full bloom. I found her typical in outline and sound in construction, with lovely body lines creating a balanced and elegant silhouette. Her head is pretty, with dark, far-seeing eyes and a beautiful, silky topknot. She has a good length of neck flowing into a firm topline, completed by a low-set tail that is well carried, showing the desired ring. Her body is well developed, with depth to the chest and ample spring of ribs. She uses her long, strong hindquarters to drive around the ring effortlessly, with her head held proudly, and at one with her handler. BOB & Hound Group 1, delighted to later watch her go on to win RBIS - Congratulations

Very smart 18-month-old red brindle dog with an appealing outline when stacked, combining substance with a touch of masculine elegance. 1. Mrs Rose-Rozamie Reflection Of Rosencrantz
Fell for this 11-month-old chocolate & tan bitch, her delightful character stood out. She is a quality puppy showing great promise, with lovely body lines and overall balance. Her appealing head is well-proportioned, and her well-toned eyes lend her an endearing expression. She has a long neck flowing into well-placed shoulders and a well-developed forechest, with her forelegs set well under her and elbows tight to the body. Her neck and topline flow smoothly to a well-set and well-carried tail. She boasts strong, muscular quarters and a well-developed rear. Her movement is precise and powerful. I was pleased to award her BOB, BPIB, and Hound Puppy Group 2.
2. Mrs Cole-Rozamie Reputation
Litter sister to the winner and similar in type, though today she lacked her sister’s ‘look at me’ attitude. She is nicely balanced in outline, with a pleasing head shape, dark eyes, and well-placed ears. She has a good length of neck leading to a firm, strong topline. Her ribcage shows lovely depth and spring, with ribs carried well back and a strong loin. There is good width to her quarters, though her movement was not quite as precise today. A 17-month-old black & tan bitch, displays excellent overall balance and proportions when standing. I appreciate her size, substance, and femininity. She has the most feminine head, which is well-shaped and very expressive, from her dark almond-shaped eyes. Her neck is clean and of good length, flowing smoothly into a firm, level topline that she maintains both standing and on the move. She is well-developed throughout, with a prominent forechest, well-sprung ribcage, and adequate ground clearance. Her hindquarters are strong and muscular, and she moves cleanly and efficiently.
2. Mrs Turton-Tramardachs Citation To Damoradaxies
8-month-old red dog is full of fun and mischief. Currently in the teenage stage, he needs time to fully come together. At present, not quite the body and substance of the winner. His head is of good overall length, with a slightly arched skull, sports a roman nose, but a little more refined, with a lovely dark eye and well-placed ears. He has a good length of neck and a well-let-down chest. His movement was rather erratic, as he was excitable and clearly enjoying himself. BP

Judge: Jak Titchener (DRIFTTZU)
I would like to thank Bridgwater & District Canine Society for the kind invitation to judge, and the committee and helpers for their hard work in making the day such a success. My thanks also go to my efficient steward, Hollie Wood, who kept the ring running smoothly throughout. I was very happy with my entries overall and appreciate the support of all exhibitors who brought their dogs under me. Although I was not originally scheduled to judge Irish Setters, due to several changes of judge and the need for a Level 2 JEP qualified judge to cover the classes, I was asked to step in. I would therefore like to extend my particular thanks to the Irish Setter exhibitors for their understanding and for exhibiting under me, especially as I judged the breed at this show last year.

She stands on straight, well boned forelegs as required, and presents a balanced outline. Topline could be firmer and more level, and on the move she was slightly unsettled which affected overall flow, however she showed enough quality and breed type to take the class. Hindquarters well muscled with good turn of stifle. On the move he showed reasonable stride, although front action could be more fluent and rear movement was not at its best on the day. O (3,2) 1 DAVIES’, MADDIDALLI TRUE LOVES KISS JW, 19-month-old WHITE WITH BLACK SPOTS B, Caught my eye immediately for her overall balance and quality, presenting a very pleasing and symmetrical outline. Lovely head of correct length with good proportions and clean lines, and a good mouth. Neck of good length flowing into well laid shoulders. Body strong with good depth of chest, well sprung ribs and a firm topline, giving an excellent overall picture. Hindquarters well developed and providing drive. At times could be a little unsettled on the move, but showed enough reach and stride when settled to demonstrate her quality. Coat in excellent condition and of correct texture. A very balanced bitch who stood out for overall type. BOB. 2 DAVIES’, MADDIDALLI RIVER SONG, 6 year old WHITE WITH BLACK SPOTS B, A bitch of fair general appearance. Head finer than the winner which affected overall balance when compared. Forequarters and hindquarters adequate with sufficient construction. Movement was sound and steady with a more consistent action on the day, however lacked the overall quality, strength and presence of the winner.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel:
P (2,2) 1 HAWKINS’, LEXODY’S SERENITY, 8-month-old BLENHEIM B, A very pleasing puppy of good general appearance, showing nice balance and breed type. She has a lovely head and skull with a soft, gentle expression, and well set ears with good feathering. Body short coupled with a level back for her age, giving a well balanced outline. Coat of very good quality, long and silky with attractive feathering. Movement was understandably puppy-like and could be more settled, with rear not at its best today, however she showed enough overall quality and type to take the class. 2 WEBSTER’S, JOLAINEY BOOMER FOXX, 7-month-old BLENHEIM D, A puppy of good type with a pleasing head and skull and nice length of muzzle. Finer in bone than the winner, particularly in forequarters, and lacking the same substance and overall balance. Topline not level today, standing slightly high over the rear. Movement was acceptable but did not have the same presence or outline as the winner. SY (2,0) 1 HAWKINS’, LEXODY’S LEGACY, 8-month-old BLENHEIM D, A lovely youngster who appealed for overall balance and breed type. He has a pleasing head and skull with large, dark eyes giving the desired gentle expression. Forelegs straight with moderate bone and a well constructed front. Body short coupled with a level back, and he stands balanced throughout. Well feathered coat including feet, of good texture and condition. Movement was free and showing promise, if still developing as expected for age. A very attractive puppy who stood out for his overall quality. RBOB & BPIB. 2 BENNETT’S, ARROLINE INCOGNITO AT REMMYA, 14-month-old TRICOLOUR B, A bitch of fair general appearance. Head and skull finer than the winner, lacking the same strength and fill under the eyes. Forequarters and hindquarters both on the finer side, with ribs needing more spring and body lacking the same substance and compactness. Coat well feathered and movement was sound and steady, however did not have the overall balance and presence of the winner. PG (0,0). O (1,1) 1 KNAPP & BLACKIE’S, CRIDENSA CONNOR, 3 year old RUBY D, Stood alone in the class but a dog of real quality and breed type. He presents an excellent Overall picture, being well balanced and elegant without any coarseness. Head and skull very pleasing with correct proportions, large dark eyes giving a soft, gentle expression, and a good mouth. Neck of moderate length flowing into well laid shoulders and straight forelegs. Body short coupled with good spring of rib and a level back, maintaining a balanced outline. Hindquarters well constructed with good turn of stifle. On the move he was free and elegant with good drivefrom behind, covering the ground well. Coat long, silky and well feathered, presented in excellent condition. BOB.
Irish Setter:
P (4,0) 1 PRANGLE’S, HEATHCLARE FABERGE, 11-month-old B, A lovely youngster showing a racy, balanced outline with plenty of quality. She has a really pleasing head, long and lean with correct proportions and a kind expression. Forequarters well constructed with good bone, leading into a deep chest and well-sprung ribs, and a firm topline gently sloping as required. Hindquarters strong and well muscled. Movement was free-flowing with good drive, just showing slight tracking at times which is expected at this age. Presented in excellent coat with correct texture and feathering. Overall, a very promising puppy who stood out for her balance and movement. BPIB. Fantastic to see this dog go on to take Gundog PG2. 2 NEEDS’, COVARNEY MIGHTY QUINN WITH STOURFORD, 7-month-old D, A slightly more mature looking youngster in outlook with a pleasing head and skull and correct mouth. Well put together overall with good substance for age. However, on the day his movement was not as fluent or coordinated as the winner, which cost him the class. Still a very promising puppy who should develop well with time.
SY (2,0) 1 HARRIS’, FAIRHAVEN YOUNG SOUL FOR KONAKAKELA JW (IMP SWE), 21-month-old D, Made a lovely first impression with a racy, balanced outline and plenty of quality throughout. He has a pleasing head, long and lean with correct proportions, and a good mouth. Chest deep with well-sprung ribs, and a firm topline gently sloping as required, which he held well both standing and on the move. Good feet and overall construction. Movement was free-flowing with good drive, just tracking slightly at times. Presented in a fantastic coat with correct texture and feathering. Noted I awarded this dog first in puppy last year, and he has matured well into a quality adult. 2 TAYLOR’S, DENDROCH ANNE FRANK, 18-month-old B, A feminine bitch with a good head and correct ear placement. Forequarters slightly finer in bone than the winner, and topline not as firm or level on the day. Movement was generally good but showed more noticeable tracking which affected overall performance. Coat adequate, and overall a nice type who would benefit from strengthening and maturity. PG (5,1) 1 MORGAN’S, QUENSHA I KNOW HIM SO WELL, 2 year old D, A really tough class of five with some quality exhibits. This dog stood out for overall balance and movement. He has a pleasing head, long and lean with correct proportions, good forequarters and a deep chest giving plenty of heart and lung room. Body overall sound, with good hindquarters providing drive. On the move he showed free-flowing, coordinated action with good drive, which ultimately won him the class today. Presented in good coat with correct texture and feathering. BOB. 2 FULL’S, HENALEAS GO WEST AT TEIGNESTUARY, 3 year old D, Another quality dog with a pleasing head and correct mouth, and good forequarters. I actually preferred his body for depth and overall construction, with good hindquarters and a very good coat. However, when it came to movement he could not quite match the winner’s freedom and drive, which was the deciding factor in this strong class. L (1,1) 1 CONDRON’S, COVARNEY TIME AFTER TIME FOR MARZANNE, B, 4-year-old B, Stood alone in the class today. A bitch of fair general appearance with a pleasing head, long and lean with correct proportions, and nice eyes giving a kind expression. Ears well set and carried correctly. Chest deep with sufficient rib, though topline showed a slight dip which affected overall outline. Hindquarters adequate, but rear movement was wide on the day and not at its best. Coat good, of correct texture with appropriate feathering. O (3,0) 1 MURRAY’S, HENALEAS MAXIMILIAN WITH DERRYDORE JW, 17-month-old D, a lovely dog of pleasing general appearance, presenting a balanced and racy outline. He has a nice head with good proportions, correct forequarters and a well-developed chest. Topline was acceptable on the day, with good hindquarters and well-constructed feet. Movement was sound and in keeping with his overall quality. RBOB. Interestingly, on checking my notes, I also awarded this dog Reserve Best ofBreed at last years’ show. 2 RUTHERFORD & JUDGE’S, RIVERBRUE GALLIANO FIZZ TO CLONAGEERA JW, 8 year old D, a very nice veteran of good general appearance, showing himself well for his age. I would have preferred a little more stop in the skull, however he has a good mouth and a lovely, firm topline. Moved very well for a veteran, maintaining a true and steady action. Coat in good condition.
